Budget 2026-27: In a boost to Indias creative industries, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced government support for the countrys Orange Economy in the Union Budget 2026-27. The government has backed animation, gaming, VFX and comics in the budget. Nirmala Sitharaman said the government would support the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies, Mumbai, to set up animation, visual effects, gaming and comics and content creator labs.
