Bangladesh diplomat named head of UN mission in Afghanistan

Rabab Fatima from Bangladesh is the new head of UNAMA. She brings over thirty years of extensive diplomatic experience to this role. Fatima previously served as the UN's high representative for developing nations. She takes over from Georgette Gagnon, who was acting head. UNAMA coordinates aid and monitors human rights in Afghanistan.
