Assam govt aims 20% cut in fuel cost, 10% down in revenue expense as part of austerity measures

Assam government has announced austerity measures to boost fiscal prudence. Fuel expenditure will be cut by 20 per cent. Minister and official convoy sizes will be reduced. Foreign travel for ministers and officials is deferred for six months. Vehicle purchases are banned for six months. Government offices will conduct energy audits.
