Tamannaah Bhatia reacts to comments on her complexion; says, I focus on my work

Tamannaah Bhatia has responded to comments about her complexion, sharing her perspective on dealing with remarks about her appearance and the importance of not allowing them to become a distraction. Speaking at the recently held NDTV Profit Ignite 2026 event, the actor explained how she chooses to focus on her work rather than give importance to such observations. During the interaction, Tamannaah highlighted how listening and understanding what deserves attention are essential for creative professionals. She said, I think that as a creative person, our most important task is to listen. And when we listen, what we keep and what we filter is very important to understand. And because you are also a woman, you can understand that if we start giving importance to such things, then perhaps we will not be able to move forward in life. The actor further emphasised that her priorities remain her work and the projects she wants to pursue. She added, So I don't even see these things. I focus on my work. I focus on what I want to make. I focus on my acting career. Explaining her approach towards her profession, Tamannaah said that she views her work as a form of service and believes that this sincerity helps her connect with audiences. And genuinely, according to me, I want to do my work like a service. And I do that. And maybe that's why it reaches people, because somewhere it comes from the right place, she shared. The remarks come against the backdrop of comments made by veteran actor Annu Kapoor about Tamannaah more than a year ago. During an appearance on Shubhankar Mishras podcast, Kapoor was asked about the actor and her performance in the popular song Aaj Ki Raat from Stree 2. Responding to the question, Kapoor remarked, Mashallah kya dudhiya badan hai (What a milky-white body/complexion). He further said, Behen, apne gaane se, apne shareer se, apne dudhiya chehre se humare bacchon ko sulaati hain... Bahut achi baat hai Desh ke upar kripa hogi agar humare desh ke bacche achi aur swasth neend soyein (Sister, if through your song, your body, and your milky-white face you make our children sleep... it is a very good thing... It will be a blessing for this country if our children get a good, healthy night's sleep). Tamannaahs latest comments underline her decision to prioritise her acting career and creative choices over remarks about her appearance.
