Income Tax dept cracks down on bogus claims linked to donations, SMS and emails sent to taxpayers as friendly measure

The Income Tax department is alerting taxpayers via SMS and email to update their returns and withdraw incorrect claims, following a crackdown on fraudulent tax claims linked to Registered Unrecognised Political Parties (RUPPs) or charitable institutions.
