ITR filing 2026: Sitharaman asks tax officials to let honest taxpayers correct genuine mistakes

As the July 31 ITR filing deadline nears, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has urged tax officials to let honest taxpayers correct genuine mistakes. She also outlined the 5Rs of responsive tax governance and called for greater tax certainty and lower litigation.
