CBDT directs AIS to show foreign investments, strengthening tax transparency and compliance

CBDT will upload foreign investment and overseas financial account information into taxpayers' AIS within 90 days under the AEOI framework. The move aims to improve tax transparency, simplify compliance, strengthen verification of foreign assets and encourage accurate income tax return filing.
