BIG BREAKING: Ramayana has a Diljit Dosanjh connection; iconic artist sings Hanuman Chalisa
A while ago, Bollywood Hungama reported that the first part of Ramayana ends on a thrilling note with the much-awaited entry of Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. We were also among the first to reveal that the superstar has a limited role in the first instalment and makes his grand appearance only towards the end. What makes this sequence even more special is the powerful rendition of the Hanuman Chalisa that accompanies his entry. Bollywood Hungama has now learned that the Hanuman Chalisa featured in Ramayana has been sung by none other than Diljit Dosanjh! The popular singer-actor has lent his voice to the devotional hymn, giving it a stirring, cinematic touch. The makers have effectively incorporated the rendition into Sunny Deols entry sequence, adding to the grandeur and emotional impact of the moment. Besides Diljit, the track is sung by Kailash Kher, Anirudh Ravichander, Sukhwinder Singh and Mohit Chauhan. Meanwhile, on November 4, Bollywood Hungama reported that Ramayana had sold approximately 3,30,000 tickets across the top three national multiplex chains, PVR INOX and Cinepolis, and was expected to close the day around the 4 lakh mark. The advance bookings have been phenomenal, particularly considering the pre-Diwali release period, with the film heading towards a strong opening of around Rs. 60 crores on Thursday. The unconventional mid-week release is a result of producer Namit Malhotras decision to align the Indian release with the international rollout. A conventional Friday release, however, could have boosted advance sales by at least 10%. Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Yash as Ravana. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari of Dangal (2016) fame, the film is produced by Namit Malhotras Prime Focus Studios and eight-time Oscar-winning VFX studio DNEG, in association with Yashs Monster Mind Creations. While the first part arrived in cinemas today, November 5, the sequel is scheduled to release on Diwali 2028.
