Why Govinda refused to work with Sushmita in Biwi No. 1

Biwi No. 1, a David Dhawan comedy, almost had a different cast. Govinda was the first choice for the lead but opted out. Manisha Koirala was considered for Karisma Kapoor's role. Anil Kapoor's part was initially for Sanjay Dutt. This led to a rift between Govinda and Dhawan. Sushmita Sen's famous line was improvised.
