'Sholay' box office: Why the film remains India's biggest

Sholay, starring many famous actors, is considered the greatest Indian movie. The film recently completed 50 years. Initially, it was considered a flop, but it picked up later. Sholay ran for 50 weeks in 28 cinemas. Salim Khan predicted it would earn over Rs 1 crore per territory. Made under Rs 3 crore, it earned Rs 15 crore.
