Merchant sailor Rex Perreira endured a harrowing month at sea, stranded in Iraq without documents amidst bombings. After a ship engine explosion and dire conditions, he and other Indians were left abandoned. Following sustained efforts and emergency document issuance, Perreira finally returned to Mumbai after a perilous journey.
