Rain batters Mumbai: Santacruz records 1,017 mm in seven days, more than the entire July last year

Mumbai's Santacruz observatory recorded over 1,000 mm of rain in early July. This heavy rainfall prompted the India Meteorological Department to issue upgraded weather alerts.
