Only 19 percent in Maharashtra use helmet correctly, finds 3-year study

A study in Maharashtra revealed alarmingly low helmet usage, with only 19 percent of motorcyclists and 4 percent of pillion riders using them correctly. Speeding was prevalent, especially in ride-share vehicles. The research, conducted by Johns Hopkins, also highlighted minimal seat-belt use and zero child restraint use for minors, prompting recommendations for enhanced enforcement and public awareness campaigns.
