Mumbai: Importer held for attempting to smuggle restricted goods

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested Jaysing Shelke, proprietor of M/s Jay Overseas, for attempting to smuggle restricted and counterfeit goods worth 2.04 crore through Nhava Sheva port. Shelke admitted to facilitating the import of fireworks, lighters, and fake branded items under instructions, receiving 25,000 for his role in the syndicate.
