Heavy rainfall lashes parts of Mumbai; IMD issues orange alert

Mumbai experienced a torrential overnight downpour, with several areas receiving over 200 mm of rain in just eight hours. Malwani, Malad, topped the charts with 271 mm. The intense rainfall caused waterlogging in low-lying areas, including Hindmata and Andheri Subway, but civic teams worked swiftly to clear the accumulation, largely restoring traffic flow by morning.
