HDFC Bank ex-VP murder: Court rejects juvenile claim; accused to face adult trial

In a pivotal decision, a Mumbai court has declared that Sarfaraz Shaikh, charged with the homicide of HDFC Bank's vice-president Siddharth Sanghvi in 2018, will be subjected to adult trial proceedings. Shaikh's request to be recognized as a minor was rejected by the court, which cited proof including a counterfeit school transfer certificate and an ossification test indicating his age as 25 to 28 at the time of the offense.
