Gold smuggling through Mumbai airport busted: Airport staffer among 8 arrested; Rs 8.95 crore haul seized

In a significant blow to gold smuggling operations, the Mumbai DRI has apprehended eight suspects, one of whom works at the international airport. Authorities confiscated approximately 6kg of melted gold and dust, worth an estimated Rs 8.95 crore. The illicit activity involved transporting gold from the airport, melting it in Kalbadevi, and utilizing an underground network for distribution.
