22.8 lakh to take NEET (UG) re-test today across India

Over 22 lakh students are set to appear for the NEET (UG) 2026 re-exam nationwide. Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra lead with the highest number of candidates, while Rajasthan emerges as a significant coaching hub. A striking majority, nearly 80%, will take the test in English, with Hindi a distant second. Southern states maintain a strong presence, and regional languages see limited participation.
