SIR row: EC changes online Form 6 voter registration process

The Election Commission has changed the online Form 6 process in States where the Special Intensive Revision, or SIR, is not under way. The Hindu found that fields seeking parents and grandparents details have been removed, while the additional declaration is now listed separately for States undergoing SIR. The change comes after concerns over the declaration requirement were reportedly flagged by two Election Commissioners.
