When Poland found a second home in Kolhapur: A rosary and personal belongings of a Polish refugee are returning to Valivade, India, the settlement that provided refuge to nearly 5,000 Polish refugees during World War II. The memorial project aims to preserve the history of this second home for thousands of displaced families. Excavations have uncovered the remains of old barracks, adding physical evidence to the stories and memories of those who lived there.
