UN peacekeeping chief in Lebanon says smooth transition is critical before pull-out

UNIFIL must hand over its tasks to other UN agencies and Lebanese troops before the Security Council-ordered withdrawal at the end of 2026, even as more than half its posts lie in Israeli-controlled areas of southern Lebanon.
