Spain deploys army as thousands of migrants swim from Morocco into Ceuta

Spanish armed forces are being sent to Ceuta after thousands of migrants entered the territory. Local authorities stated the situation had spiralled out of control, overwhelming border police. The deployment follows a request for additional personnel to manage the crisis. This mass crossing occurred after days of smaller arrivals and at least three deaths at sea. Spain and Morocco agreed to work on returning unauthorized migrants as soon as possible.
