National reservoir levels reach 70.3% capacity amid widening regional monsoon gaps: Report

Reservoir storage nationwide reached seventy point three percent of capacity this week. Western and Central India maintained high storage levels, showing regional variations. Eastern India reversed into a surplus, while Northern and Southern regions faced deficits. Kharif sowing progress improved, though rice and cotton shortfalls widened. Subdued rainfall is forecast through mid-September, with exceptions in East and Central India.
