NHRC proposes central drug registry, real-time tracking to curb spurious medicines

The National Human Rights Commission has recommended implementing a centralised registration system for medicines in India. This system aims to create a comprehensive database for tracking and authenticating drugs through dynamic QR codes. It will initially focus on high-risk and life-saving medications to enhance safety. A drug trace-and-track portal is also suggested to monitor the supply chain and manufacturer details.
