Measles outbreaks, immunity gaps among children and adolescents concerning: WHO

The WHO South-East Asia Region has the highest childhood immunisation coverage globally, reaching 94 percent for DTP3 vaccine. Experts highlighted persistent immunity gaps among children, leading to measles outbreaks in the region. According to the WHO, vaccination rates for other diseases, such as HPV, need significant improvement to meet target goals. The 17th SEAR ITAG meeting emphasized strengthening surveillance and using local data to close immunity gaps.
