Jharkhand DGP appointment violates apex court directions: Centre in Supreme Court

The central government has filed a petition in the Supreme Court questioning the recent appointment of Tadasha Mishra as DGP of Jharkhand, citing breaches of guidelines set in the Prakash Singh judgment. The petition also challenges the validity of the 2025 regulation under which the appointment was made, and raises concerns about the previous appointment of Anurag Gupta. A three-judge bench will review the Centre's petition shortly.
