Iran says struck two tankers under US 'air escort' trying to pass Hormuz

Iran's Revolutionary Guards reported striking two oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. These vessels were reportedly under the air escort of the United States military. Four other oil tankers quickly changed their course and returned to previous positions. Iran has controlled navigation through Hormuz since February 28, requiring permission and fees. Earlier, two tankers turned back after one caught fire during transit.
