India proposes 8 guardrails in softening of stance on plurilateral pacts at WTO

India has proposed eight safeguards for plurilateral agreements at the WTO. These safeguards aim to preserve consensus-based decision making and the multilateral charter. Non-participants' rights and agency must also be protected by these measures. India previously opposed plurilateral trade agreements, advocating for exceptions rather than norms.
