In reverse flow, India exports 500 tonnes of hilsa to Bangladesh in two months: Fish traders

Kolkata has exported approximately 500 tonnes of hilsa fish to Bangladesh recently. Another 150 to 200 tonnes are expected to be shipped in the coming weeks. This marks a significant reversal of the traditional fish trade flow between the two nations. Bangladeshi traders are sourcing hilsa from Gujarat, which has high demand there. The fish is also being processed for export and sold domestically as salted hilsa.
