San Francisco Bay tidal marshes are being restored for a reason that reaches far beyond wildlife. These wetlands filter polluted water and help protect shorelines from erosion, storms and floods. They also support fisheries and endangered species. At Cullinan Ranch and Dotson Family Marsh, restoration is rebuilding damaged tidal marsh habitat. The work comes as sea level rise, coastal development and climate change create growing pressure across San Francisco Bay.
