Johns Hopkins research from 2000 and 2006 represents an important scientific progression in the search for ways to repair damaged nervous systems. The original experiment involving 18 paralyzed rodents provided evidence that neural stem cells could migrate toward spinal-cord injury and coincide with functional improvement.
