A deceased father's Rs 2 lakh PMSBY insurance claim, rejected by the insurer over mismatched name and age records, has been upheld by the Chhattisgarh State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, which awarded the nominee son a total payout of Rs 2.5 lakh including compensation and litigation costs. The commission ruled the rejection was unjustified and amounted to deficiency in service.
