Cornell students rally over alleged gang rape, demand tougher action against sexual violence

Cornell University students held a large rally in Ithaca, showing support for a classmate's gang-rape allegations. The demonstrators called for stronger action against sexual violence and urged an external inquiry into the university's handling of the case. They demanded uniform minimum sanctions for sexual assaults and better training for campus police. The protests followed a lawsuit by the alleged victim that criticized the actions of university officials.
