Centre has extended Rs 2,537-crore assistance for flood management projects in Northeast India

The Centre has allocated Rs 2,536.96 crore for 263 flood mitigation projects in Northeast states. Flood forecasting services issue short-range forecasts and basin-wise advisories for advance planning. The Brahmaputra Board prepared 52 master plans incorporating various flood management measures. States assess flood damage and provide relief from disaster response funds.
