BJPs Thiruvananthapuram Corporation majority under strain after R Sreelekha resigns

The resignation of BJP councilor R. Sreelekha from the Thiruvananthapuram city council poses a critical challenge to the party's majority, reducing the council's strength to 50. Following her discontent over not being nominated as Mayor, speculation surrounds Sreelekha's allegiance to the party. Currently, the BJP is making efforts to have her reconsider her resignation, hoping to maintain their council dominance amid the changing political landscape.
