Asian Games marathon 2026: 'If I didn't get medal, it would have been waste of time,' says Sawan Barwal

Sawan Barwal won Indias first Asian Games marathon medal since 1982, clinching silver in Nagoya with a national-record time of 2:11:37. The 28-year-old Army athlete, who switched to marathon racing earlier this year, said winning a medal validated years of training and made the transition worthwhile after breaking the national record again.
