A neuroscientist dropped people from a 150-foot tower in Dallas to find out if time really slows down when you think you're about to die

A fascinating study investigated whether fear alters our perception of time during intense moments. When volunteers simulated a fall from a tower, they struggled to read numbers quickly. Interestingly, their recollections of the experience felt much longer, indicating that our memories of emotional events are rich and detailed. Thus, the brain distinctly processes frightening moments, giving them an extended sense of duration.
