Nitin Gadkari announces new expressway for north-east, proposed Gorakhpur to Meghalaya highway connecting UP, Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya to reduce travel time by half

Gorakhpur-Siliguri-Guwahati-Shillong expressway: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced a Rs 61,500 crore, 630-km highway corridor connecting Siliguri, Guwahati and Shillong. A separate Gorakhpur-Siliguri expressway project is also planned to improve connectivity between Uttar Pradesh and the North East.
