Mayawati draws family line, 'frees' nephew Akash from BSP

BSP chief Mayawati announced her nephew Akash Anand is now completely freed from the party. This decision followed Akash's father-in-law's retirement from politics and social life. Mayawati stated Akash's family ties outweighed his party commitment and movement. She had previously removed him from national coordinator responsibilities in September 2026. The party's leadership feels Akash should now remain independent from the BSP organization.
