New HomePods likely coming soon with Siri AI, updated colors

Macworld Now that Siri AI is officially available in the OS 27 updates, Apple may be getting ready to finally release the u pdates to the HomePod and HomePod mini . A couple of new reports give us a peek at what we might see. The first report comes from MacRumors. The sites controbutor, Aaron Perris, spotted Apple code that refers to the new HomePod mini and icons that show the colors that will be available: black, blue, green, pink, and white. That means orange and yellow, which are in the current color lineup, will be dropped. According to the sites images, the new blue is a lighter shade, and presumably, black and midnight are the same. The second report comes via a post by itspdfu , who has a history of posting accurate leaks online. They report that audioOS27, the upcoming operating system for HomePod devices, supports Siri AI. In addition to Siri Ai support, the new HomePod will have new animations for the devices display. Get ready for Siri AI on HomePod. audioOS 27 includes Linwood, the system behind Siri AI, plus a new look and sound for Siri on HomePod. May require new hardware. Apple released the original HomePod in 2018, and it had a three-year run before Apple paused production of the product. Then in 2023, Apple released an updated HomePod , which remains currently available for purchase. Itspdfus report doesnt mention the new HomePod mini specifically, though its long been rumored that the new HomePod mini will have Siri AI support as well. Were also expecting a new Apple TV 4K with Siri AI support. None of the current devices support Apple Intelligence or the new Siri. Apple is expected to make a big push into the smarthome market with the new HomePods and an new device thats been dubbed a home hub that acts as a central control point. Bloombergs Mark Gurman has reported that Apple plans to release the new devices before the end of the year.
