Gaurav, 10-year-old Namibian cheetah, dies at Kuno National Park: Rescued from the wild after showing weakness, muscle wasting and dehydration

Ten-year-old Namibian cheetah Gaurav died at Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park on Monday while undergoing treatment after being rescued from the wild on September 12 in a weak and dehydrated condition. Officials suspected an underlying chronic condition, but the exact cause of death will be determined through a postmortem examination and sample analysis. Following his death, Kuno has 51 cheetahs, including 36 Indian-born, while India's total cheetah population stands at 55.
