233% return on SGB premature redemption date today: Gold bond turns Rs 1 lakh investment into nearly Rs 3.33 lakh

The Reserve Bank of India has announced the premature redemption price for the gold bond series. Starting from September 9, 2026, investors can redeem their SGB 2020-21 Series XII at a fixed price of Rs 15,355 per unit. This ensures a notable profit for bondholders, as Sovereign Gold Bonds serve as an alternative to physically holding gold.
