Diablo Is Coming to Netflix! Blizzard Announces Animated Series

The world of Diablo is heading to Netflix, with Blizzard Entertainment developing an animated series based on the popular video game franchise. Blizzard Entertainment president Johanna Faries announced the project during BlizzCon in Anaheim on Saturday. The upcoming series will expand the Diablo universe beyond video games, although Netflix and Blizzard have not yet revealed details about its storyline, cast or release date. Blizzard said the partnership with Netflix is part of its broader effort to explore new ways of telling stories from its gaming universes. The company noted that the Diablo animated project is still in development and that further details will be announced at a later stage. BlizzCon is Blizzard Entertainments major fan event, bringing together players and followers of franchises including Diablo, World of Warcraft, Overwatch and StarCraft. The Diablo franchise began in 1996 with the release of the original game. It was followed by Diablo II in 2000, Diablo III in 2012 and Diablo IV in 2023.
