Chandrachur Singh Files FIR Against Aunt, Cousins Over Property Dispute

Bollywood actor Chandrachur Singh has lodged an FIR against his aunt Gaytri Devi, two cousins and four others, alleging that his grandfathers will was forged to deprive his late father of his rightful inheritance. Actor Alleges Grandfathers Signature Was Forged In his complaint filed at Rorawar police station on Friday, Singh alleged that the signature of his grandfather, Thakur Harender Pal Singh, was forged on a will in 1997. Harender Pal Singh, a prominent landowner from Jalalpur village on the outskirts of Aligarh, was reportedly critically ill at the time and, according to the actor, was not in a condition to sign legal documents. Singh alleged that his uncle Ganga Singh and other family members forged the signature on the will, thereby depriving his father, late Captain Baldev Singh, of his inheritance rights. Disputed Will at Centre of Property Row According to Singhs complaint, Captain Baldev Singh was not present in Aligarh when the disputed will was allegedly executed. He also claimed that another uncle, Puniya Pratap Singh, had died before Harender Pal Singh. The actor further alleged that a substantial portion of prime properties inherited under the disputed will was subsequently sold over the years. Chandrachur Singh Says He Has Evidence Speaking to reporters on Friday evening, Singh said he had gathered sufficient evidence to support his allegations. He added that he recorded his statement before the police after filing the FIR. Aunt Had Earlier Denied Allegations The property dispute had surfaced publicly last year when Gaytri Devi rejected the allegations as false. She had accused Chandrachur Singh of attempting to implicate her and maintained that the disputed will was genuine. Police Begin Investigation Chandrachur Singhs father, Captain Baldev Singh, was a former Congress MLA from Aligarh city and died a few years ago. Police have registered a case based on Singhs complaint and launched an investigation into the allegations.
