Akshay Kumars Heyy Babyy Sequel to Return to Australia Nearly 20 Years Later

Filmmaker and producer Sajid Nadiadwala has announced that his upcoming comedy sequel Heyy Babyy 2 will be filmed in Australia, along with two other productions from his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The announcement was made during the visit of New South Wales Premier Chris Minns to Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment's Mumbai office. Heyy Babyy 2 is the much-awaited sequel to the 2007 comedy Heyy Babyy, which was also filmed partly in Australia. The original movie starred Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Vidya Balan and Boman Irani. The upcoming three-film arrangement is part of a broader collaboration between Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Australia, in partnership with Sydney-based production house TEMPLE. Nadiadwala said Australia's scenic locations and filmmaker-friendly environment made it an attractive destination for his productions. Australia is not only breathtakingly beautiful, but also an incredibly film-friendly country with a highly professional, efficient and welcoming environment for filmmakers, he said. The producer added that his previous experience of shooting in Australia had encouraged the production house to consider the country as an important location for its future projects. The announcement comes after NSW Premier Chris Minns visited India, beginning his trip on August 31. During his visit to the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment office, Minns interacted with the production team and discussed the collaboration. Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment is one of the great names in Indian cinema, so having them choose Australia for three upcoming films is a big vote of confidence in our screen industry, Minns said. He added that the productions would generate employment opportunities for Australian crews, creative professionals and local businesses, while also helping showcase New South Wales to audiences across India. Australian filmmaker Anupam Sharma, who was associated with the filming of the original Heyy Babyy in Australia, welcomed the new collaboration. He said the partnership comes at a significant time, with the India-Australia co-production treaty creating greater opportunities and benefits for joint film productions between the two countries. With Heyy Babyy 2 returning to Australia nearly two decades after the original, the sequel is set to revive the franchise's connection with the country while expanding the collaboration between Indian and Australian film industries.
