1 lakh fishing vessels to get ISRO transponders

The Centre has approved a 364 crore nationwide rollout of the Vessel Communication and Support System (VCSS) under PMMSY to equip one lakh marine fishing vessels with ISRO-developed transponders. The initiative will enhance vessel tracking, weather alerts, emergency response and maritime safety for fishermen.
