US allows oil majors to resume Venezuela operations, broadly okays new energy investments

America has eased sanctions on Venezuela's energy sector. This allows global energy companies to restart oil and gas operations. Companies can also negotiate new investment contracts. Payments for royalties and taxes will go through a US-controlled fund. This is the biggest sanction relaxation since President Nicolas Maduro's removal.
