Tarun Tejpal surrenders before Goa court after SC refuses relief, sent to jail

Tarun Tejpal surrendered to a Goa court after his Supreme Court plea was dismissed. He has begun serving a ten-year rigorous imprisonment sentence imposed by the Bombay High Court. The Supreme Court had directed Tejpal to surrender within two weeks for his appeal hearing. The Bombay High Court overturned his acquittal, convicting him in a 2013 sexual assault case.
