SC closes criminal case against former PM Manmohan Singh in coal block allocation case

The Supreme Court has closed a criminal case against former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. This decision follows the acceptance of a closure report filed by the CBI. The court found no reason for the trial court judge to reject the CBI's findings. Industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla and ex-coal secretary P C Parakh were also involved. The Supreme Court's intervention stayed the earlier court directive summoning the accused.
