Nurse who recovered from Nipah virus infection dies of cardiac arrest in Bengal hospital: Official

A 25-year-old nurse in West Bengal who had recovered from Nipah virus infection died of cardiac arrest on Thursday at a private hospital in Barasat, a health department official said. She had been taken off ventilator support at the end of January but was suffering from multiple complications, including a lung infection and a hospital-acquired infection after remaining in a prolonged coma.
